Yesterday I was having a conversation with one of Tucson’s top SEO experts at Anchor Wave Internet Solutions and we were chatting about the importance of having relevant backlinks to websites for them to build authority. This of course is always a challenge for web site owners that’s not made any easier by all of the blog and forum spammers out there. My little blog here gets a ton of spam comments and has almost become a chore removing them.
I wanted to share with you how you sometimes can get lucky enough to receive backlinks from high ranking sites through social engagements, if done sincerely. The photo above is of a Google+ post I did sharing a story I blogged about. The internet Rockstar Chris Pirillo did a youtube video that I really enjoyed and that I wanted to share with my readers. When I posted on Google+ I tagged him in the comment and in turn he saw it and made a comment.
On his Youtube video he did the other day, (Below Photo) this was his long description where Chris was kind enough to take the time and recognize me and my post.
Here is what it looked like in the SERP with in less than 24 hours of the video be published.
